Happy Dia de los Muertos True Believers!

Today’s makeup is for Dia de los Muertos and I have been wanting to do this particular makeup since Joe Benitez posted it up last year. It’s a steampunk inspired piece for his comic Lady Mechanika and I love how he integrated it into the Dia de los Muertos makeup. Joe’s also been super kind to me every time I’ve seen him at a con, so I wanted to give him a nice shout out 🙂

I had to change the proportions of some things to fit my face size and shape, and some of the filigree as well because, I’m not as awesome of an artist as Joe. lol

I hope you like it!

(And if you’re heading to Stan Lee’s Comikaze today, make sure to check out my Cosplay Makeup 101 Panel at 2pm in Room 303AB!)

I had to do one with Lady Mechanika’s cool red and black eyes! They are photoshopped. You can purchase scalera lenses like them from a special effects contact lens shop.
